otvoritvijo 2. septembra predan uporabi. Stolp okrogle oblike, visok 53,50
metra, s pritličjem in devetimi etažami, je projektiral Oskar Virag,
univ.dipl.inž.arh., iz arhitekturnega biroja Vires d.o.o.
Tlorisna velikost
The Floating Mill
Only a couple of decades ago there were still over active 40
floating mills on the river Mura that produced energy from the river with help
of mill wheels and used it for grinding. The mill in Ižakovci was reconstructed
in 1999 from the original plans that were left from one of the bygone mills on
the river Mura. The mill is completely wooden. Together with a huge mill wheel
it is positioned on two boats called kumpi. In the mill there is a special
miller’s room where buckwheat, wheat, spelt and maize flour is ground.
The Ferry
There are
only three ferries left on the river Mura which keep ferrying: the ferries in Ižakovci and in Melinci are
two of them. The ferry is made up of two
shallow boats called kumpi and linked with a connecting and carrying platform
on which there is the ferryman’s little hut. The platform with its enclosure is
attached to a steel riverside rope that carries the pulley with the hanging
rope. The ferry moves on the river with help of the river’s current.
